 Steef
was born in Rotterdam on September 30, 1956. He
graduated as business economist at the Erasmus
University Rotterdam. Steef worked for several (inter)
national companies. From 1983 to 1987 he held a position
at the Erasmus University as director business
evaluation, after which he joined the Academic Hospital
Rotterdam (Dijkzigt) as manager of several departments.
From 2000 until 2001 Steef served as head of the
financial Department of the faculty of Medicine and
Health Science of the Erasmus University. Currently,
Steef holds a position as head of the Technology
Transfer Office of the Erasmus University Medical Center
(Erasmus MC) and also serves as director of the Erasmus
MC Holding Company. In this last position he is a member
of the supervisory board at several companies of the
Erasmus MC. Last but not least Steef is
entrepreneur/owner of several companies in the leisure
and recreation industry. He founded several private
companies which acted as clinical research organisations.
These companies were sold in 2003.
