 Chrétien Herben is Manager Valorisation at the
Netherlands Genomics Initiative (NGI). He is responsible
for all activities relating to intellectual property,
patent applications, exploitation of knowledge and
establishing
new companies. He is the prime contact for the
valorisation officers within the Genomics Centres and
for NGI partners that are closely involved in
utilisation of knowledge, including Technology
Foundation STW
and TechnoPartner.
Chrétien Herben has experience in both science and
industry: in 2001 he
co-founded ThreeFive Photonics, a
spin-off from Delft University of Technology focusing on
opto-electronic chips for telecommunication networks.
In 2004 he moved to Technology Foundation STW, where the
valorisation of (technological) knowledge was one of his main responsibilities,
including the set up of the Valorisation Grant programme.
At the end of 2004 he started working for NGI.
