Perry
Moerland received his PhD in computer science from the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne where he
worked on machine learning and
artificial intelligence.
While travelling in Asia he decided to switch fields and
joined the Bioinformatics Laboratory of the Academic
Medical Center in 2002. His research interests are the
analysis of high-troughput data and reconstruction and
interpretation of biological networks from such data. He
is also project leader of a BioRange project
"Understanding and reconstruction of eukaryotic
biological pathways from microarray data" on this theme
funded through the Netherlands Bioinformatics Centre (NBIC).
